💬 INTRODUCTION

Originally born in Aldershot, England, Kid Killit grew up in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and has called cities like Lethbridge and Edmonton home. Now based in Calgary, this Canadian artist is grinding hard to leave his mark on the music scene.

Kid Killit’s musical journey is anything but ordinary. While always passionate about music—singing along to the radio or jamming out in the shower—he was once too shy to share his voice. That all changed at 28, when he stepped up as a screamer in a metal band. Five years later, he’s still in that band and has also carved a path into hip-hop, thanks to a pivotal moment being a hype man for his homie Tokey.

Blending the raw energy of metal with the emotional storytelling of hip-hop, Kid Killit creates music that’s deeply personal. For him, writing and performing is a form of self-therapy—an unfiltered way to express what’s really going on inside.

Whether it's through aggressive bars or cathartic hooks, Kid Killit isn’t just making music—he’s making an impact. Keep an eye on this unique voice rising from Alberta’s underground.

🔥 THE PASSION

What sparked it for me was watching my friends perform in bands—just creating music and having fun with it. I saw the joy it gave them and thought,

“I want that too.”

I’ve always been the quiet, shy type, but something flips when I grab the mic. It’s like I step out of my shell and into who I really am—at least until the set ends. Music gives me a kind of confidence and release I’ve never found anywhere else.

💪 THE DRIVE

ree

When things get rough, I lean on the energy around me—people’s stories, the love from friends, the support from fans. It hits different when someone tells you your music helped them, or

when a homie reminds you how far you’ve come. That’s what keeps me locked in and motivated.

🇨🇦 COMMUNITY & CANADIAN PRIDE

What I love most is how the community always shows up—no matter what’s going on. When there’s a hip-hop show, it’s nothing but love and respect in the room. That kind of energy is what keeps me inspired. Seeing the scene grow, seeing more people come together to support the culture—it’s powerful. I’m proud to be part of it, whether it’s performing, showing support, or just sharing my message. I’m excited to keep building with everyone and watching it grow.

Hailey - What’s the story behind your creative journey — where did it all begin for you?

Kid Killit - It all started when I had the chance to watch my friends band practice an hangout, i wish I started earlier but no age for creativity, an I’ve always been the one whose never heard or listened to so nice to make original music for all to listen to.

Hailey - What were some of the biggest moments or challenges that shaped your path so far?

Kid Killit - It’s deff a big mental health help an therapy for myself and others, I’m still tryna shape my path honestly cause I know my sound ain’t for everyone, an that’s ok.

Hailey - How has your journey evolved from where you started to where you are now?

Kid Killit - Lots more support an love from friends an family, an it’s nice when people seek out an ask you to play shows, or even notice you online or in person, feels good to have that kinda support, an also give it to those who deserve it.

🚀 BUILDING THE DREAM

I’ve had the chance to play in metal bands that opened for some incredible acts like Battlecross and Obey the Brave. In hip-hop, I’ve shared the stage with so many talented artists, each one pushing me to level up. But the biggest moment so far?

Opening for Nelly in my hometown, Medicine Hat, with my homie Tokey. We performed at the Canalta Centre—where the Tigers play—and seeing that stadium packed with people vibing to our energy (and even my screams!) was surreal.

Definitely a milestone I’ll never forget.

🌈 CLOSING

I’ve got four unreleased tracks dropping before the end of the year—including the collab I mentioned earlier—so I’m pumped for that. I’ll also be opening for Dizzy Wright on September 7th here in Calgary, which is gonna be a sick show. On top of that, I’ve got more local gigs lined up and maybe even some new merch on the way. Stay locked in—big vibes still coming!
