Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Nadi Downs is a powerhouse vocalist and the magnetic frontwoman of the Nadi Downs Band.

Singing since the age of four and performing professionally for over 15 years, Nadi has built a career on passion, presence, and raw talent.

Her creative journey began at home, imitating her favorite artists and characters, and evolved into a lifelong love affair with music. For Nadi, music isn’t just sound — it’s a language, a connection, and a calling.

THE PASSION

My deepest inspiration has always been the pure love I have for music. Growing up on the sounds of Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Faith Evans, Aaliyah, and Brandy, I would mimic every note, every run, every move. Music was never just a pastime — it has always been my home.

In the hard seasons, my greatest motivation comes from my kids. As a single mother of three, they are the heartbeat behind every lyric I write and every stage I step onto.

They remind me why I keep the music alive and why I keep pushing forward.

COMMUNITY & CANADIAN PRIDE

For me, being a Canadian creative is about using my voice to bring joy, healing, and love through music.

I carry my roots with pride — my mom is First Nations Cree and my dad is Dominican — and that cultural richness flows into every lyric, every performance, and every connection I make. Music is my way of creating space for authenticity, unity, and the kind of connection that goes beyond borders.

BUILDING THE DREAM

One of my proudest achievements is being able to sing full-time while raising my children — that alone means the world to me. Over the years, I’ve become one of Calgary’s busiest performers, and each show is a fresh reminder of how far I’ve come.

Every stage, every audience, and every song is proof that the dream I built is alive and thriving.
